Firstly, all our furniture is made locally in Ardee, Co. Louth where we distribute across Ireland and the UK via our own in-country logistics teams. As an active member of the Forestry Stewardship Council, Farrell only use FSC® certified wood, chipboard and MDF.
We also ethically source as much of our other materials locally where possible or from sustainable sources. When working with veneers we try use to farmed Cherrys and Oaks as opposed over-forested Mahongany and Teaks, and rely on solvent-free polishing and varnishing techniques.

When we need to use metal in our products, our designers and crafters rely on aluminium as opposed steel, an easier material to recycle and less corrosive to the environment.
Our manufacturing team use low-emission, chemical-free glues during our assembly process and we adopt lean principles through our manufacturing process which contributes to our waste reduction.

We adopt full end-to-end recycling and repacking with our goods inwards and outwards process and we adhere to WEEE in relation to all our electrical machinery and appliances.
We recently revamped our lighting throughout our production facility in Ardee, installing energy-efficient LED lighting. Our wood waste and offcuts are burned to generate heat for the factory and offices.

What we are most excited about is our strategic work with clients across the public and private sector whose own environmental outlook and ethos encourages us to get ever more creative in how we hit our collectively sustainability targets.
We are currently part of CIRCULÉIRE, a joint industry and environmental strategic initiative and outlook on new product development and reuse.
ISO Certified
ISO Certified
Farrell is conscious of our responsibilities to do what we can to contribute to the environment. This led us to pursue ISO certification across a number of key areas including Environmental Management. In most cases we are certified by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) by formal audit, in some cases requiring on-site inspections both at our manufacturing HQ in Ireland in addition to client site inspections.
Farrell is proud to hold international standards across Environmental Management (ISO14001:2015), Quality Management (ISO9001:2015) and Health & Safety Management (ISO45001:2018).
