Farrell Bros (Ardee) Ltd is pleased to announce a Trainee Management Accountant opportunity, based in its manufacturing Head Quarters in Ardee. This position is available to a partly qualified accountancy graduate or a person studying to complete their professional exams (CPA, ACCA).

Your role would include:

  • To assist the financial controller in ensuring that the accounting records are properly controlled, reported upon, and ensuring that they comply with relevant accounting standards.
  • To support the financial controller in ledgers e.g. general ledger, Trade Receivable, Trade Payable ledgers and supporting records, to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • To support and ensure reconciliations are properly prepared and that all reconciling items are cleared within the agreed timescales and to provide any necessary analysis.
  • Participate (as directed) in the performance and on-going enhancements to the daily financial accounting control environment including the performance of specific designated reconciliations, preparation of manual accounting batches etc.
  • Detailed reporting of company profit, monitoring income and expenditure for profit maximisation.
  • Responsible for maintaining stock control records.
  • Analyse actual performance vs forecasts (margin analysis).
  • Part qualified – business or accounting
  • Computer literate – Microsoft office – high level skills in excel essential
  • Highly organized individual with excellent attention to detail and great accuracy
  • A self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative in a busy, results-driven environment
  • Hardworking and flexible with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanour
  • Team player with a can-do attitude

  • Part qualified – business or accounting
  • Computer literate – Microsoft office – high level skills in excel essential
  • Highly organized individual with excellent attention to detail and great accuracy
  • A self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative in a busy, results-driven environment
  • Hardworking and flexible with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanour
  • Team player with a can-do attitude

This opportunity provides formal training and mentoring from the CFO and the finance team with practical on-the-job experience and as you qualify, reward will come with further opportunities and salary progression. Your total compensation package includes pay, exam fees and exam support.
