Farrell employees graduate Lean Business programme
We are delighted to have four Farrell employees – Seamus Melia, Cillian Farrell, Ryan McNally and Conor McCullagh – recently graduate the Green Belt Programme, provided by LBS Partners and Skillnet. The course is aimed at improving knowledge of Lean Business practice throughout businesses.
“Delivered by LBS Partners, the Management Works (Skillnets) Lean Business Green Belt Programme uses a proven combination of training and on-site project mentoring to help participants understand Lean principles, implement Lean tools and deliver improvements for sustainable cost savings.”
Four more Farrell employees have begun Green Belt Programme this week. The knowledge learned on this program will prove invaluable as Farrell looks to continue our lean journey.
Thank you to LBS Partners and Skillnet who provided excellent training throughout the program.
Farrell nominated for prestigious FX Design Award
Farrell is delighted to have been shortlisted for an award in the upcoming FX International Interior Design Awards to be held on 28th November 2018.
The company’s Elements office furniture range has been included in a list of 11 finalists in the category of ‘Public, Leisure or Office Furniture’.
Elements is a collaboration between Farrell designer, Conor Farrell and John Walsh from Dublin based design company, Made.
The innovative furniture range – which has proved very popular with clients – is a unique collection of height adjustable, sit-stand furniture that puts users, ergonomics, comfort and healthy working at the fore.
The design allows office workers to electronically move their desk from a sitting to standing position with the touch of a button and was designed in line with employers becoming more mindful of employees’ wellbeing. It’s a simple solution to an age-old problem.
Recent studies have shown that sedentary behaviour leads to lifestyle related diseases. The Elements furniture range, including the sit-stand desk, can reduce inactivity and therefore decrease the risk of lifestyle related diseases.
The FX International Interior Design Awards celebrate world-class design excellence in a ceremony held in the Grosvenor Hotel, London. Judges from all disciplines are the very best from the contract design industry, including designers, architects, engineers and clients.
Farrell creates tailor-made solution for Zalando’s first Irish office
Working alongside FKM Group, Farrell was contracted by the design team working with Zalando – Europe’s biggest dedicated online fashion retailer – to develop and manufacture a tailor-made office furniture solution for their large open offices located on Barrow Street in Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock area. Not only was the building a listed building, which presented its own unique set of challenges for the project, but Zalando already had expansion plans in the pipeline.
